Abstract

POPS Worldwide is a digital entertainment company operating in Vietnam’s fast-growing platform economy. The company has expanded through content production, creator networks, platform partnerships, and digital distribution across multiple channels. Yet this growth has created a strategic dilemma. As POPS becomes more dependent on external platforms for audience reach, it faces growing pressure to protect content, capture revenue, access user data, and govern its creator ecosystem. This case examines how information systems shape these strategic choices. It focuses on analytics, platform integration, creator-management systems, monetization tools, and digital rights management as part of POPS’ broader strategic architecture. The case asks whether the company’s existing multi-platform strategy can support long-term growth, or whether a deeper shift is needed toward stronger control, proprietary capabilities, and original intellectual property ownership. The case is suitable for discussion of digital transformation, platform governance, ecosystem strategy, and monetization-control trade-offs in an emerging market context.
