Description

Amid global supply chain disruption, supply chain agility has gained more attention from both scholars and practitioners. Using resource-based view (RBV) theory, this study examined the effect of information system (IS) human capital and information technology (IT) infrastructure flexibility on organization capabilities (i.e., performance, customer, and process). A cross-sectional survey of Indonesian manufacturing firms was conducted. The results show that both IS human capital and IT infrastructure flexibility have a significant effect on three organization management capabilities. These capabilities also found positive and significant impact on supply chain agility. We also found that organizational capabilities mediate the relationship between IS resources on supply chain agility. Our findings deepen the understanding the role of IS resources in fostering organizational capabilities and supply chain agility. This paper also provides managerial implication for investing in IS resources to overcome the economic-market uncertainty, especially in this digital era.
