PACIS 2020 Proceedings
Abstract
Many published researches are rich with generic digital transformation (DT) maturity models and frameworks. However, there is little in the literature that address the DT development areas in emerging economic environments. To fill this gap, this paper proposes an integrative approach that includes specific development areas pertaining to the success of DT of organizations in emerging economies. Five in-depth case studies were conducted to validate the integrative approach and to understand the key areas that are most likely to affect the DT efforts in emerging economies. Vision & Strategy, Competitiveness & Agility, Organization, Data & Analytics, and Operational Excellence were identified as key development areas. Whereas, Innovation, Customer Journey, IT Ambidexterity and Culture dimensions were found to be less important as requirements for DT.
