Abstract

This work is based on the experience of the social interest housing residency program at Mackenzie School of Architecture and Urbanism in the municipality of Taboão da Serra - São Paulo. The residents went through theoretical classes and fieldwork to develop products about the territory. This report looks at the experience from the perspective of geoprocessing and data analysis. The objective is to explore the importance of geoprocessing and geographic information systems as auxiliary tools for urban planning, so as to rationalize and make transparent the decision-making process in the public sector.
