Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) challenges the distinction between machine and human by simulating human capabilities. This article reflects on the impacts of AI on human identity, exploring not only its technical applications but also its ontological, ethical, and existential implications. Fears, such as the loss of privacy, authorship, objective truth, and real emotional bonds, point to a profound transformation in how reality is perceived and how we relate to it. The human ambition for technological transcendence reveals an asymmetry between technical advancement and ethical maturity, transforming AI into a mirror of the human condition, and provoking not only intelligence but also consciousness. The reflections argue that the greatest challenge is not to make machines more human, but to maintain human self-awareness in the face of technologies that emulate their abilities, recognizing that the value of technology lies in its ability to serve life, not replace it.
