Abstract
The emergence of ecosystems and technological innovations like Al is rapidly disrupting conventional strategic adaptation mechanisms. And yet there is a paucity of research that systematically investigates how ecosystem drives value creation, capture, delivery and new value propositions. Toward addressing this gap, this short paper documents our ongoing work on a case study of ecosystem. We will be presenting a preliminary framework based on the data we collected so far on the value augmentation process that unfolded in organizations across five distinct stages. In doing so, we hope that our research will serve as a foundation for developing an actionable and empirically supported theoretical framework for value augmentation and provide academia and practice with insights into integrating the revolutionary potential of AI across all levels of the organization.
