Abstract
This paper responds to recent calls to incorporate student voices into higher education by examining undergraduate student perceptions of GenAI tools, particularly ChatGPTbased tutorials, and their impact on learning processes. A survey conducted at a North American university revealed that these tutorials positively impacted learning, primarily due to their perceived usefulness and favorable student attitudes. However, ease of use did not significantly influence learning outcomes. The study highlights the importance of creating relevant and well-designed tutorials to increase educational benefits, contributing to the literature on artificial intelligence in education (AIEd) by highlighting how personalized, interactive learning experiences can enhance student learning outcomes.
