Abstract
In this paper, we propose a research model to investigate whether more information is better than less information in the requirements gathering phase of the system development process. Following the Human Information Processing System (HIPS) Model, and relevant empirical results in Marketing and Management fields, we hypothesize that too much information is as much undesirable as too little information for the requirements gathering phase. The theoretical framework for our hypothesis and a possible research model to investigate our research question are both elaborated.
