Abstract
This study will provide a conceptual framework for incorporating artificial intelligence into South African basic education. There currently exists a gap in artificial intelligence implementation strategies and frameworks. This study explores the benefits of artificial intelligence and the obstacles to its acceptance in developing countries, using the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology model as a framework. Data will be collected through semi-structured interviews with educators in the basic education sector. This submission contributes a literature-grounded preliminary UTAUT framework and a clear methods plan; findings will be reported after analysis.
