Abstract
This paper presents a trends analysis of the annual International Conference on Information Systems Education and Research (ICISER) conference papers from 2020–2024 published in the AIS eLibrary by IS educators for IS educators. The review examines the types of papers submitted and highlights a noticeable shift: IS educators are increasingly presenting research on “Teaching with IS” rather than “Teaching of IS”. “Teaching with IS” refers to the use of information systems tools in teaching and learning, while “Teaching of IS” focuses on research into how to teach IS as a subject area. This shift reflects changing research priorities among IS educators, not a reduction in IS curriculum offerings.
