Description
This study examines the normalization of ChatGPT in data analysis across ten New Zealand organizations, utilizing Normalization Process Theory (NPT). Focusing on the coherence and cognitive participation stages of NPT, it explores how data analytics teams adopt and integrate ChatGPT into their daily operations. The research employs interpretive qualitative methods, drawing on interviews with selected participants to investigate the initial acceptance and ongoing integration of ChatGPT. Findings highlight that the adoption of ChatGPT is driven more by individual initiatives than by top-down strategies, yet organizational support plays a critical role in its successful integration. The study identifies key factors influencing the normalization process, such as individual skill development, organizational support, and the strategic alignment of ChatGPT usage with corporate goals. These insights contribute to understanding the dynamics of AI tool integration in organizational innovation and decision-making processes, offering a foundation for future research and practice in AI adoption.
