Abstract

In this short paper, we present a proposal to examine the online information-seeking behaviour of first-time expectant fathers in Southeast Asia. Specially, when seeking for information about pregnancy. We focus on three areas of the information seeking process: the online source used, the type of information searched for and information sharing activities. Data will be collected using semi-structured interviews. The results will be analysed qualitatively. We expect that results from this research study will provide insights in understanding Southeast Asian first-time expectant father’s information seeking practices. We foresee that results of this proposed research study will have implications for healthcare experts and providers in delivering training, education and information programs and the need for applications, contents, and portals specific to Southeast Asian audience, specifically for men. In addition, results of this proposed study will add to the domain knowledge on information seeking behaviour.
