Abstract
As the Internet of Things (IoT) becomes the hot point in various fields, it also plays an increasingly significant part in the agricultural sector. The research body of agricultural IoT has been constantly changing over the last two decades. Despite a significant amount of work on agricultural IoT, the role of agriculture IoT is changing with the development of technology, which brings a significant challenge to existing digital agriculture practices. To examine the changing fabric of agricultural IoT, this study uses a systematic review approach, main path analysis, to examine the most crucial agricultural IoT literature. It conducts the key-route main path analysis and divides the main paths into three phases: IoT enabled farming data collection, network enabled framing data aggregation, and data enabled farming data analytics. This study thus furthers the understanding of agricultural IoT by conducting a citation-based analysis for mapping the literature on agricultural IoT.
