Abstract

Passion for learning is essential for students to perform well. Prior studies show passion can be influenced by the individual or the environment. The usage of danmu can also affect the participants’ passion. However, drawing on the person-environment fit theory, the match between the environmental climate and personal orientation can influence individuals’ passion for learning, which is meaningful but seldom mentioned. Furthermore, which kinds of involvement of danmu will be the better moderation? To answer these questions, we propose a research model, and plan to conduct a 2 (motivational climate: mastery vs. performance) x 3 (use of danmu: no use vs. questions time only vs. all time) experiment. A deep understanding of climate-orientation fit is pivotal to foster and improve students’ passion for learning. Finding an appropriate way to use the danmu is essential for teachers to create a more suited class environment to optimize students’ passion for learning
