Abstract
The role of Enterprise Architecture (EA) is crucial for the healthcare sector to foster digital transformation in response to environmental changes such as COVID-19 pandemic. However, EA implementation in the healthcare sector is challenging but it is currently under-researched compared to other EA aspects such as EA framework, modelling, and development. Prior research regarding challenges of healthcare EA implementation was mostly conducted with a single case study, resulting in limited and fragmented understanding. This study addresses this gap by conducting systematic literature review of EA-related studies in the healthcare sector during the last ten years (2011-2020). The analysis of 28 studies identified 14 challenges that are categorized into organization/business, environmental, data, application, and technology infrastructure. This study offers modest contribution to research and practice in the area of EA implementation in the healthcare sector.
