Abstract
Flood sensor is used to measure the rising of water level during flood. In recent years, we have witnessed the significant impact of flood disaster around the world. The existing amounts of flood sensors deployed by agencies in most countries are insufficient to provide effective coverage of flood prone areas. This research explores the potential of flood sensor that can be developed by community supported by ontology-based knowledge integration for effective flood prediction ability. Overall development of hardware and software are guided by design science research methodology that emphasize on design objectives and its usefulness. This helps to ensure that flood sensor can be well accepted and fully utilized upon deployment.
