Abstract

In this paper, the value-added effect, role, and basic alternatives of Interorganizational system (IOS) in a supply chain are discussed. A model for describing the growth of a supply chain IOS is proposed based on Porter and Millar's value chain theory. A three-level hierarchical model is used to demonstrate the impacts of IOS on a firm's supply chain. Finally, a numerical simulation is conducted to verify the model.
