Abstract
Emerging technologies have been widely used in financial services as well as other industrial fields, which has impact and influence consumers’ daily life. In this paper we explore an open data set (EU SILC data) on economic living conditions to establish factors and measures of financial well -being. Building on an existing framework for Financial Well -Being, we analyze the relationships between the constituent factors, and include a new factor to incorporate the impact of Financial Technology on Financial Well -Being. Our findings suggest that, while the use of technology for personal financial management has no direct impact on the financial well -being of citizens and households, it does correlate to financial satisfaction, which in turn mediates financial well -being. This analysis supports the findings of the authors in other research (JBEF, 2022), suggesting that an increase in access to bank accounts via mobile phones has the effect of boosting the confidence of citizens in the management of their financial resources (easier online access stimulates interaction with online account, which in turn supports real -time resource visibility)
