Abstract

This study evaluated how the technological solutions implemented in Salvador-BA by the City Government have contributed to the consolidation of the Bahia capital as a Smart City. The research adopted a qualitative approach, with a descriptive and exploratory nature, using a case study as the methodological procedure. Data collection was carried out through the observation of websites, digital platforms, and applications linked to the Salvador City Hall. The analysis revealed the implementation of twelve technological solutions that contributed to the consolidation of the Bahia capital as a smart city, highlighting the use of smart transportation cards, video monitoring systems, intelligent public lighting, digital platforms for citizen services, connectivity via fiber optics, and public Wi-Fi. Thus, Salvador positions itself not only as a city that adopts technologies in its urban processes but as an urban environment in continuous transformation, seeking to face challenges through innovative and intelligent solutions.
