Abstract
The explosion in the acquisition of high-resolution digital images in the last decade and the Open Data policy are an opportunity for the democratization of digital resources for research, teaching and the dissemination of culture. However, its socialization for academic purposes continues to be a problem, since now the large number of high-resolution images available makes the accessibility, search and discovery of specific digital resources difficult; which requires new strategies and search styles through the Internet and the Cloud. This project presents an alternative implemented and evaluated in socio-technological and technical aspects, which consists of a network of academic nodes with high-resolution digital images cataloged with standard metadata, managed by each owning institution and harvested centrally for deployment and visual exploration with technologies self-adjusted to the user's resources in network and graphical computing.
