ISD2026 Proceedings

The 34th International Conference on Information Systems Development (ISD 2026) was held on September 2–4, 2026, in Prague. Established in 1988, ISD has consistently provided a collaborative space for researchers, practitioners, and educators to share insights and engage in discussions on the latest advancements, trends, experiences, and challenges of information system development. The theme for ISD 2026 was "Making ISD Sustainable: Reloaded with AI and Automation."

From a total of 404 submissions, 50 full papers, 77 short papers, and 80 posters were selected following a rigorous double-blind review process involving at least three Program Committee members. The acceptance rates were as follows:

• Full papers: 12.4%
• Full and short papers combined: 31.4%
• Full papers, short papers, and posters combined: 51.2%

The technical program was further enriched by inspiring keynote lectures from three distinguished speakers:

• Jakub Klímek: Semantic Data Interoperability in Practice: Lessons from Public Administration and Beyond
• Pavel Kordík: The Great Convergence: Recommendation, Search, and Conversation in Real-World AI Systems
• Herwig Mannaert: Towards Controlled and Sustainable AI in Model-Driven Development: Guard Rails Based on Normalized Systems Theory

Additionally, three tutorials provided practical insights into the evolving landscape of information systems development:

• Vojtěch Merunka, Jiří Kofránek, Pavel Beránek, and Yahya Sa’d: Object-Process Methodology: Redefining Systems Engineering in the AI Era
• Wilfrid Utz, Iulia Vaidian, and Alexander Völz: Advancing Agility and Shared Understanding in Digital Ecosystem Design Using Digital Twins: The Scene2Model Approach
• Sanjay Misra and Per-Arne Jørgensen: Engineering Digital Sovereignty in AI-Enabled Information Systems: Principles, Architectures, and Emerging Research Directions

The program also featured an expert panel on "SE and IS Education in the GenAI Era," moderated by Sára Polák, which addressed the systemic disruption of education by generative AI. Panelists debated actionable solutions, policy frameworks, and systemic reforms needed to navigate emerging challenges in pedagogy and equity while preserving learning integrity.

The Best Paper Award was given to:

• Maciej Kucharski, Jari Jussila, and Wioleta Kucharska: Agile Mindset Impact on Artificial Intelligence Adoption in Software Development
