About ISD2023
The 31st International Conference on Information Systems Development (ISD2023 Lisbon) was hosted by Instituto Superior Técnico, in Lisbon, Portugal, on August 30–September 1, 2023. The theme of ISD2023 was Information systems development, organizational aspects and societal trends. The conference focused on how new trends in developing information systems emphasize the continuous collaboration between developers and operators in order to optimize the software delivery time.
ISD2023 comprised eight tracks, encompassing both full papers and new ideas/vision papers. Submissions were reviewed according to the high standards of scientific rigor applied in peer review. Each paper was reviewed by at least three members of the program committee, following the double-blind review guidelines. The reviewers assessed the submissions in terms of their novelty, significance, and potential impact, and were instructed to carefully consider weightings across these criteria. The review discussions were overseen by the Program Track Chairs and the Program Chairs, and the final decisions were taken by the Program Chairs taking into account the recommendations of the Track Chairs.
ISD2023 received 102 paper submissions, from which 37 (36%) full papers, 12 (12%) short papers, and 12 (12%) posters were accepted for presentation at the conference. The ISD2023 program was complemented with 1 journal first paper.
In addition, the conference hosted 3 excellent keynotes:
- Wilfrid Utz and Iulia Vaidian (OMiLAB): Challenging Innovation in IS Development through Digital Design Thinking
- Geert Poels (Ghent University, Belgium): Domain ontologies, business models, enterprise models, requirements models, and software models, What is the difference? It is all about Conceptual Modelling.
- Arlindo Oliveira (IST, Universidade de Lisboa, Portugal): Bridging the Gap: Large Language Models and Symbolic Information Processing
