Abstract

The rise of agentic AI challenges organizational assumptions by shifting the role of technology from tool to actor. As AI systems increasingly perform cognitive tasks, participate in decision-making, and reshape governance. Organizations must renegotiate agency, accountability, and trust. Subsequently, this panel explores how AI transforms organizational structures, decision processes, and control mechanisms and addresses three key questions: How does AI reshape organizational agency? How are decision rights governed to handle agentic systems? And what are the implications for theory and research designs? The brings together varied perspectives on the topic, inviting and stimulating discourse on the future of organizing in the age of agentic AI.
