The use of and reliance on Information Systems (IS) in organizations and society is more deeply interwoven today than ever, affecting nearly every facet of human existence. More individuals, even outside formal IS training and roles, can and are contributing to the design, development, and management of IS today, thanks in part to the use of AI’s ability to transform natural human language into usable IS components, e.g., “vibe coding”. AI is seen as a contributor to the expansion of IS as it is transforming how IS design, development, and project management (ISD-PM) unfolds. These expansions of IS have amplified attention on ISD-PM.
