Abstract
In recent years, digital sustainability has become an increasingly important topic in digital business. However, firms still differ significantly in recognizing its strategic importance and in taking action in green IT and IS initiatives. This short paper analyzes the evolution of digital sustainability practices and strategies over time, based on two illustrative cases of software companies that pursued different pathways toward digital sustainability. In this ongoing project, we are exploring how the flow perspective allows us to account for alignment between sustainability practices and strategies in a more nuanced way.
