GLOBDEV 2025 GLOBDEV 2025 was held on December 14, 2025, in Nashville Tennessee, USA, as the Pre-ICIS SIG GlobDev Workshop. This year’s edition focused on digital transformation of Information and Communication Technologies for Development (ICT4D), critically examining both the positive and adverse impacts of digital technologies on global development. Key discussions covered topics such as activism of the oppressed, role of artificial intelligence in supporting and limiting development efforts, governance, telecenters and spaces of digital resilience, digital health technologies, the role of telecommunications in emerging markets and the role of ICTs in social and economic transformations. Scholars and practitioners engaged in thought-provoking debates on the future of ICT4D, questioning its foundational assumptions and exploring new interdisciplinary perspectives.
