Abstract
This paper explores the importance of an intricate balance among authenticity, values, and risks in the context of Artificial Intelligence (AI) influencers. By leveraging the theory of situational privacy calculus, we develop a novel theoretical model that integrates AI influencers’ authenticity with perceived values (including perceived information, hedonic, and social) and risk considerations (encompassing privacy and psychological). The model aims to elucidate how users consider trade-offs when deciding to follow and engage with AI influencers.
