Abstract
This contribution analyzes operational and sustainability performance in an industrial supply chain from a data-based perspective. The study examines outbound B2B logistics and evaluates transportation service providers. A survey assessed sustainability practices, while a data maturity framework evaluated the industrial partner. Results show that transport providers demonstrate promising efficiency and environmental procedures but lack structured, standardized sustainability practices. Data quality issues, limited digitalization, and heterogeneous processes constrain automation and interoperability. Despite strong strategic alignment, the industrial partner still exhibits gaps in integration and analytical capabilities. The study concludes that transitioning to more sustainable logistics chains requires robust digital infrastructures, improved data quality, and enhanced system integration.
