Abstract

The implantation of IT applications is an increasingly important activity in the IS area, as more business sectors now have ready-to-use application packages. Several methods support the implantation of IT applications, most of which are proprietary, developed by technology and IT consulting companies. This article focuses on a methodological framework for the implantation of IT applications in SMEs that is academic in nature and, therefore, open. It reports on a case study conducted in a SME company within the condominium management sector, which allowed for the assessment of the framework's suitability to the processes involving the implantation of new business IT applications that replace previously operational applications. Additionally, it verifies the adequacy of the classification of actions and initiatives launched to ensure their success.
