Abstract

Vaccination is the most effective way to prevent infectious diseases, and Health Information Systems contribute to the development of public policy by providing data and tools that ensure broad vaccination coverage. This study analysed the impact of the Vaccine Information System on the quality of immunisation care in the community, based on the experiences of 66 nurses. Inconsistencies were identified in the dimensions of Intrinsic Quality, Contextual Quality, and Accessibility, such as outdated, incomplete, or incorrect data, as well as security failures, compromising the platform's effectiveness. The main advantages are nationwide access and the system’s intuitive design. It is recommended to carry out regular audits and implement structural improvements, such as integration with other systems and automated functionalities, in order to optimise the immunisation process and increase vaccination coverage safely and effectively.
