Abstract
This work in progress proposes a critical analysis of the effects of Generative AI on secretarial functions, focusing on communicational, functional, and identity dimensions. It examines how GAI reshapes professional practices based on human interaction and organisational mediation skills. Grounded in Structuration Theory, Constitutive Organisational Communication, and Sociomateriality, the study adopts a mixed methodology to capture both objective data and subjective interpretations. A systematic literature review reveals a lack of research applied to secretarial work. The study aims to develop a model applicable to wider organizational contexts and offer theoretical, methodological, and practical contributions to training and digital transition policies.
