Higher education professional programs must respond efficiently to evolving Management Information System (MIS)/ Information System (IS) industry needs. The purpose of the study is to identify minimum educational attainment requirements, minimum work experience requirements, and platform and tool preferences as a first step in helping institutions decide whether or not the time is appropriate to begin emphasizing RPA in the curriculum. The study suggests, based on the available data, that work experience requirement and degree attainment requirements have declined between 2019 and 2021 suggesting that the skills requirement is getting closer to when a student might graduate. The study involved 5,245 IS and/or information technology positions posted on Indeed.com between January 2019 and December 2021 that mention RPA in the description or title.
