Description
The paper presents the results of an investigation into the factors that influence the acquisition of knowledge, which in turn shapes the perception and adoption of emerging technologies. The authors developed an ontological representation of the knowledge acquisition process (ORKA) that encompasses the key components (classes) of this process, including Resource, Creator, Provider, Inspirer, Recipient, and Reviewer. The detailed characteristics of these classes and defined relationships between them facilitate the understanding of the knowledge acquisition process. Awareness of how attitudes towards technologies might be shaped is vital since they influence both private (individual) and commercial (company) future investment decision making.
