Abstract
It is important for MIS educators to have a good understanding of what IT knowledge and skill are required in business. Inthis study, a total of 103 semi-structured interviews were conducted with hiring companies in the Midwest region. Theinterviews with key business recruiters suggest that IT knowledge and skills are significantly considered during the recruitingprocess, even if the target position is not IT-related. The most sought-after skills are summarized. Implications for MISeducation are discussed.
