Abstract

Cyberbullying is a growing problem among adolescents and adults. Unlike traditional bullying, cyberbullying occurs through the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs). However, it proliferates extensively on social networking services (SNS), such as Instagram, Snapchat, and Facebook. Thus, research has shown that design features can magnify the effects of cyberbullying. However, this knowledge spans across various disciplines, making it challenging to build upon extant knowledge, furthering the academic discourse. This research proposes a systematic literature review, seeking to synthesize knowledge and bridge the gaps across disciplines. We aim to uncover these gaps, propose areas for future research, and provide a guide that examines how design shapes not only cyberbullying, but also other dark-sided behaviors.
