Abstract
In this paper we take the position that a research stream specific to AI Strategy Leadership deserves dedicated attention in the context of the broader AI research domain. This research stream emerged from studies that related to the role of the Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer (CAIO) and leadership structures that companies are using to support their AI strategy. This stream is focused on AI strategy leadership and does not include the literature on development of AI strategy. AI research in general is in its infancy, and this stream represents one of many directions that the overall AI research will take over time. Most of the research in this stream is in the early stages of development and based on exploratory research questions. Limited research has been published in this realm and most of that is currently in proceedings.
