In the realm of artificial intelligence (AI) within the recruitment sector, the importance of ethical considerations cannot be overstated to ensure that technological advancements adhere to fundamental values such as fairness, responsibility, equity, and transparency. This study delves into the ethical perceptions of 162 prospective job seekers, employing fuzzy set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA) alongside qualitative insights to dissect the intricate dynamics between situational and individual factors influencing these perspectives. Our investigation uncovers gender-based disparities in the emphasis on fairness and ethical concerns within AI-driven recruitment processes. This enhances our comprehension of the ethical nuances in AI-driven recruitment, highlighting the importance of ethical principles in the integration of AI technologies in hiring practices. The findings advocate for a refined approach that embraces the varied viewpoints of potential candidates, aiming to make a meaningful contribution to the discourse on ethical AI within the framework of information systems adoption.
