Abstract

With the development of digital economy, the amount of data shows an explosive growth trend, accelerating mankind into the era of big data. As important strategic resource of digital transformation, digital capabilities have become the focus of business operators and scholars. In this study, we deepen the concept of digital capabilities, analyze their architecture, and analyze their positive impact on firm performance. We use a quantitative research method and structural equation model to analyze the questionnaire data of 222 Chinese enterprises. Through theoretical analysis, digital capabilities can be deconstructed into four important dimensions: data collection capability, data integration capability, data analysis capability and data application capability. Through empirical analysis, we clarify the internal logic of digital capabilities. It is also found that digital capabilities can help firms successfully implement digital transformation and improve firm performance.
