Abstract

Smart campus is an emerging area of research which is receiving a lot of attention from academics, practitioners, governments and corporates. There is a growing interest in adopting smart campus technology to universities with evidence suggesting that smart campus enhances academic and administrative processes. Realization of smart campus calls for an integration of campus organization and the technological backbone. We argue the need of an alignment between the business or the institutional context and the IT to enable smooth realization of a smart university campus. In this research, we propose to explore the alignment concerns in a smart campus based on three research questions. The dissertation employs qualitative research methodologies. We also offer possible theoretical and practical contributions of this research.
