PACIS 2020 Proceedings

Abstract

Anchoring on the theoretical lens of resource orchestration view (ROV), this research investigates qualitatively how two Singapore-based, family-owned food and beverage (F&B) companies digitally transformed their businesses. Our analysis based on interview data reveals that core to digitalization is the capacity to appropriately deploy digital technologies to accelerate resource liquefaction. This enables companies to take advantage of market opportunities. Other than providing insights on how resource liquefaction can be, this research extends ROV, by suggesting that with digital technologies, companies could liquefy, i.e.: expand and contract their resources on demand.
