Abstract
Mobile payment has grown significantly worldwide in recent years. It is considered one of the future trends in consumer market. Adoption of mobile payment by their intended users has drawn attentions from both academic and industry. It is important to ask why users will use or not use a mobile payment method. In this study, we compare three mobile payment methods, NFC-based mobile payment, website-based mobile payment, and mobile app-based payment, and study their adoption in China. We plan to use the mean-end chain approach to collect qualitative data. The objective of this research is to explore how various factors interact with situational factors to affect users’ decision of a mobile payment method usage.
