Abstract

This paper assesses factors affecting successful enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems implementation in China. Since the successful implementation rate is low and many firms that have gained some benefits from ERP have yet to exploit the full potential of ERP in their organizations. About 90 percent of ERP implementations are late or over budget (Martin 1998). In China, the success rate of implementing ERP systems is extremely low at 10% (Zhu & Ma, 1999). There is a need of research to examine generic and specific-to-China factors that affect ERP implementation success in China. In this study a conceptual model is developed and survey method is used to collect data. Structural equation modeling technique of PLS-Graph is used to conduct data analysis, a discussion on the model is made and future research direction is indicated.
