Abstract

Quantitative studies have tried to retrace factors affecting authorized copying of software (SW) particularly in North America. However, we find no statistical significant studied taken place in Europe. In order to address this gap in literature, we explored 249 users' attitudes and affecting factors with respect to unauthorized copying of SW: nine hypotheses, founded by the previous research, were tested. The results shed a new light on the users’ characteristics and the affecting factors with respect to unauthorized copying of SW.
