Abstract
Digital technologies facilitate smart environments, leading to environmental sustainability. However, human barriers impede this facilitation. This paper proposes that, to achieve digitally-enabled sustainability, strong regulatory frameworks and leadership are essential. This position sets the stage for the next step of this research.
