MWAIS 2024 Proceedings

Abstract

Conferences have been utilized in information systems for decades as a method of fostering the dissemination of ideas, and as an outlet for collaboration among researchers within the field. The MWAIS conference has the same goals including the mission to promote collaboration within the Midwest US. In this paper we use scientometrics to analyze whether the MWAIS has lived up to its stated purpose by analyzing conference proceedings over the lifetime of the conference. Results show that, while institutional, regional, and classificational inequality have improved over time, there are still areas of improvement needed with regard to author collaboration.
