Abstract

This project will address challenges in assessing the effectiveness of public health survey tools. Often, disaster or hazard-focused questionnaires encounter difficulties due to divergent interpretations of terms related to "Public Health, Risk, and Equity." To address this, a master concept map will be developed by integrating inputs from experts and local collaborators with various backgrounds (risk and hazard, law and ethics, organizational communication, and public health and emergency management). The map will undergo refinement through a literature review and feedback from community members to create a shared understanding of the key concepts. The master concept map will be used to assess and update the survey questionnaires in the Hazard Vulnerability Analysis (HVA) tool for the local county.
