Abstract
As cyber-attacks escalate it is time to think differently and take a different approach by researching the role of diverse skill sets within incident response (IR) to understand if different skill sets can help during a cyber-attack (Dark, 2015; Moore, 2019). This qualitative case study set out to identify if diverse skill sets affected IR teams during a cyber-incident. A total of eleven participants, six IR managers and five IR members, were interviewed and the data analyzed, resulting in seven emergent themes. The findings on how diverse skill sets may affect incident response during a cyber-incident were not clear cut resulting in a need for future research, which should focus on further exploring diverse skills sets in IR as well as how culture may impact IR teams.
