Abstract

This objective is to provide a modern solution based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and camera vision technology, which aims to equip city planners and lawmakers with a simple, highly scalable tool for making better infrastructure decisions. Currently, most American roads lack a proper data collection system for accurately predicting road traffic density and congestion based on real time data. With the proposed system, coined as "AI Camera", it is possible to create a network of roadside cameras and turn them into sophisticated data collection points with self-learning capabilities, modern high-bandwidth computing power and razor edge analytical capabilities.
