Abstract
In December 2006, Sam Valanju presented a keynote address on The CIO Challenge at the 12th Annual SIM Academic Workshop in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In that talk, he described how the role of IT has evolved as Johnson Controls’ products and services increasingly embed technology and how his IT organization has evolved to enable an increasingly global business model. This interview was held a few weeks after the workshop, with the objective of sharing this story with MISQE readers.
