Abstract
The adoption of distributed ledger technology (DLT) in finance remains slow, largely due to governance and regulatory concerns. However, its potential to transform organizational design and interorganizational coordination is substantial. By democratizing how partnerships are formed, DLT-based systems enable new ways to structure cooperation and competition. This MISQE Insight examines how permissioned DLT systems support emerging “neo-cooperative” business models and provides recommendations for designing such models using DLT systems.
